Most lenders will let you borrow between 4 and 4.5 times your annual household income. On a joint income of £60,000, that is typically £240,000 to £270,000. However, specialist schemes such as Income Boost mortgages, Professional mortgages and 5x Income mortgages can allow eligible buyers to borrow up to 5.5 or 6 times their income.
